The linseed or the flaxseed is a product of the great nourishment and the strong healing value. Known from ages, it was very much appreciated by our grandmothers and definitely more frequently used in the kitchen. The linseed contains many polyunsaturated fatty acids mainly from the omega-3 and omega-6 families. Moreover, they are made from fibre, vitamin E, zinc, flavonoids, fitoestrogens and lecithin. Owing to its elements, the flaxseed has not only nutritious but also healing properties, it shields the membrane of the digestive tract, lowers the cholesterol, has anti-inflammatory, anticancer and anti sclerosis properties.
It is possible to use the flaxseed in the kitchen in a lot of ways. It constitutes the perfect addition to salads by combining it with the coconut milk and chia seeds, we receive delicious and healthy pudding. Let us remember about the fact that the linseed, since it has the large content of polyunsaturated fatty acids, does not stay fresh for a long time. It is advisable to buy small packages and always check the expiry date.
