Takeshi Sawada, director and chief designer of the kamina&C brand, after many years of work in the clothing industry, decided to devote himself to designing of furniture. His collection of childrens chairs in the shape of animals is an example of creativity and fresh approach to design. Designer has used oak, walnut and ... fake fur to make chairs in the shape of deer, sheep and cow!
These round seats have backs in a shape of horns and legs stylized like hooves. Thanks to this surprising form chairs are also toys, which stimulate children to creative play. Unfortunately, work with wood is always associated with a large amount of waste. The amount of grinded wood material ranges between 30 and 70% of the volume of wood. It is not difficult to imagine, how much space shavings occupy, and after all they are only production waste.
Features of the shavings varies depending on the type of wood and equipment used for processing. kamina&C decided to use those waste to make another creative project in the field of interior design. In order to minimize the amount of waste the designer experimented in order to give value to the wooden shavings. He did not want to waste this amount of natural material. The result are vases, bowls or kitchen boards, made of ... wood shavings.
