MILLET RISE UP SPEED CLIMBING - Paklenica 2016

Big Wall Speed Climbing Competition and the next stop at Millets Rise Up Tour have already been behind us. At several-hundred-meters high walls of Paklenica National Park in Croatia the best climbers from around the world have met. This year, for the first time Millet brand has been a sponsor of the event.

Big Wall Speed Climbing is an event with a 16-year tradition. Every year during the first weekend in May, Croatian Paklenica attracts the lovers of climbing, they fight with the majestic, magnificent walls of Velika Paklenica canyon, and their weaknesses. This year the main sponsor of the event has been Millet brand, and Paklenica has been another place of Rise Up Tour.

Rise Up Tour is an event, during which you can get to know and test Millet’s products. During the competition in Paklenica, Millet technical advisors were helping, sharing their expertise and advising. They gave any necessary information about the equipment or clothing.

The winners of this years Millet’s Rise Up Speed Climbing Competition were: in the category of men on "Big Wall Speed Climbing" route (160m, 6c+) Antoine Bletton /Igor Corko FR/HR, time 18:10, in the category of women on “Karamara Sweet Temptations" route (6a+, 110m) won Sunčica Hrašćanec/ Inga Patarčić HR, time- 16:08.

The time at which climbers ascend huge vertical walls, makes literally dizzy. At the end, it is worth noting that the record time on the road, "Big Wall Speed Climbing" (160 m, 6c +) belongs to the brothers Jurica and Perica Levatić and it is 15:16!
