OATies – special shoes for kids

OATies are the worlds first 100% biodegradable, non-toxic baby shoes that bloom. When the shoes become too small, you can plant them with two seeds that will sprout into an actual Tree of Life for the baby.

OATies are produced in Europe, designed in the Netherlands and made with natural, biodegradable materials like flax, hemp and ecological cotton. The tree seeds are from the Pinus Pinea tree, a strong pine tree that can grow in almost all of Europe. "Weve been making biodegradable shoes for a while now, but since a year or so, friends of ours are increasingly starting to have babies. Of course we wanted to be able to give those friends a cool present and we quickly though: yes! A couple of months later, the first baby shoes were born. The response was so great that we decided to take them into production, so voilà: here are our OATies!

In 2011 OAT introduced the worlds first completely biodegradable sneakers. Sneakers you can plant in the ground so they bloom into flowers, just like their little brothers, the OATies. Half a year later OAT also introduced the first sneakers made from biodegradable leather. Since then, OAT Shoes have become known throughout the world as the blooming shoes from Amsterdam.
