Lavender is a shrub that usually is 60 cm high. In its natural environment it grows in a wild in southern Europe - in calcareous, dry and sunny areas. It is one of the most commonly used plants in cosmetics and aromatherapy. There is hardly a person who does not know how lavender looks like and how it smells. Lavender blossoms in summer, and its flowers and leaves, used for therapeutic purposes, are collected in July and August. Then they are dried in the shade at a temperature lower than 35 degrees. At higher temperatures, the plant loses its properties.

Lavender has calming properties, it also lowers anxiety. It is effective in treating insomnia, it restores good sleep and prolongs it. If you have troubles with sleeping - you can put dried flowers and leaves of lavender to a linen bag. The bag prepared in this way, placed at the bedside will help you to fall asleep. Lavender can be used effectively by people with digestion problems. The plant has carminative and antispasmodic properties, it stimulates the secretion of gastric juices and bile, stimulates appetite, stimulates digestion, relieves colic and bloating, stimulates intestinal peristalsis. Lavender can be administered in digestive system problems as an infusion, but lavender leaves, with a bitter, slightly sour taste can also be added to food.

Lavender also has antiseptic, antifungal and bactericidal properties. Therefore, lavender oil is good in the treatment of infections and skin problems. Inhalations with lavender oil are ideal in the case of pharyngitis, sinusitis, bronchitis and tonsillitis. It is ideal for the treatment of acne. It also helps in wound healing and it accelerates the regeneration of the epidermis. You can use tincture rub the sore place, if you have muscle pain or radiculitis.
Lavender oil can be purchased in pharmacies. We encourage you to prepare a lavender tincture, which is useful in flu and colds.
