"Floating Egg" is a project of several designers and a proof that the old saying "two heads are better than one" is not fading even in the twenty-first century.
This project is an effect of collaboration between Stephen Turner and SPUD Group and Pad Studio. The idea was to create a floating object that will be able to work as residence -office for the next 12 months.
There is nothing accidental in this project. Oval shape, resembling a giant egg, was chosen deliberately because of possible weather changes. The whole design of this floating house was created on the basis of technologies used in the construction of boats. It uses practical solutions - functional during the break of the weather that normally are used in shipbuilding industry.
This small floating apartment has everything you need in everyday life. Inside there is a small kitchen, bathroom, bed, desk, and even a hammock to relax after work. There are also ecological solutions of course. Electricity is obtained from collectors, making "flying egg" energy self-sufficient object.
Do you feel like having a weekend with the egg?
